Mission Work | Our Involvement

Mukhanyo Community Development Center is a registered NGO located in KwaMhlanga, South Africa. The vision and mission of MCDC is to improve the unacceptable levels of suffering in the wider community due to the large numbers of People living with HIV/AIDS, People living in poverty and Orphaned and Vulnerable Children, by working through the local church. MCDC continues to develop a holistic model of care by working together on integrative planning.

Mukhanyo Theological College is a multi-denominational Christian institute dedicated to preparing men for ministry of God's Word as pastor's, teachers and witnesses to the world. The goal is to equip leaders to preach, teach and proclaim the word of God while facing the challenges of HIV/AIDS, poverty and orphaned children in their community. MTC works in partnership with MCDC to meet the needs of the suffering and move the Gospel forward, while working in an animistic society.
Mission Work | Our Involvement
Our goal is to work alongside these two organizations while adapting to the community and culture in such a way that we are able to build relationships with people based on the fruits of the spirit stated in Galatians 5:22, "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control." We believe that without relationships of trust and unconditional love with people it is impossible to fully integrate and be accepted into a foreign community.
Practically, we are involved with MCDC by assisting with project oversight, helping to develop entrepreneurship programs and small business, helping to coordinate volunteers and mission teams, building capacity among the local management team, working with orphaned and vulnerable children and various other responsibilities that we encounter from day to day. In 2006, we were involved as Caretakers at Mukhanyo Theological College and assisted with the daily operations of the facility. We will continue mentoring relationships with students attending MTC and help to further develop the partnership and working together of both MTC and MCDC.
Bryan McReynolds has been actively involved in working with the MCDC Building Team and developing their understanding of the Gospel and how it relates to their everyday lives. The Building Team works to build Care Centers and Churches for Orphaned and Vulnerable Children and homes for the needy. Bryan will continue working alongside the Building Team as they transfer building skills to young men involved in the Entrepreneurship Project, with the hope of creating small business.
Rebe McReynolds is involved in developing an Entrepreneurship Program for the African women who are skilled in the art of beadwork. Her hope is to further establish relationships with this group and to be an integral part of their understanding of the truth in God's Word. As young women are trained to produce these vibrant works of art, she hopes to open opportunities for a market to the U.S. In 2006, a local market was established and small business exchange was successful.
